The Batman to get a brand new script

Rumours of uncertainty and rewrites have dogged the development of Ben Affleck’s solo outing of the caped crusader and know it seems they are some what true.
Matt Reeves, the director who took over helming the project after Affleck dropped out, recently spoke about the film on MTV’s Happy Sad Confused Podcast. When Josh Horowitz asked whether or not the original script was still in play, Reeves replied:

“No. It’s a new story. It’s just starting again. I’m excited about it. I think it’s going to be really cool.”

There is no news on whether this will mean a change in villain from the already announced Death Stroke to be played by Joe Manganiello

No doubt this news will start up rumours of Affleck quiting in his role as the dark knight as soon as his contract is up, since it was only a few months ago he was removed from director duties and now to have his script torn up and start from the beginning can only mean a bumpy road ahead for the already troubled DCEU. With poor showings from films like Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad can it really afford to be re casting a major character so soon?
