Can crowdfunding and people power really help Greece out of its financial crisis?
This may sound like a ridiculous idea but who knows what people power can do?
A crowdfunding campaign has been launched on the Indiegogo website by a guy called Thom Feeney originally from York who now lives in London.
The all or nothing crowd funding campaign project simply called Greek Bailout Fund has a funding goal of €1.6 billion Euros. Although an unrealistic target it has already raised over €700,000 in 3 days with over 42,000 backers.
Check it out below!
Indiegogo perks for the Greek Bailout Fund include:
€ 3 Euro plus postage – A postcard of the Greek Prime Minister Alex Tsipras, sent from Greece.
€ 6 Euro plus shipping – A Greek Feta cheese and olive salad delivered to your door.
€10 Euro plus shipping – A small novelty bottle of Ouzo.
€25 Euro plus delivery – A bottle of Greek wine.
€160 Euro plus shipping – A basket of assorted Greek foods.
€5,000 Euro – An all inclusive holiday for 2 in Athens.
The final pledge is for a whopping €1,000,000 (one million Euros) and for the super rich and kind hearted people who can spare the odd million!!
