Bumble Bee Camaro from Transformers

Last weekend we attended the first ever Film and Comic Con event in Newcastle. The 2 day Comic Con festival organised by Showmasters Ltd was held at the Metro Radio Arena and was attended by thousands of film enthusiasts and collectors.

If you speak to anyone who attended Newcastles comic convention they will no doubt mention the rediculous queues to get in to the venue.Bumble Bee Camaro from Transformers Thousands of people and families who travelled from all over the UK braved the chill and queued up for up to 4 hours. There were also many disappointed fans that didn’t get in to #Comicon even though they had pre purchased tickets.

Once inside the arena there was lots of great stuff to see and buy from the dozens of trade stalls selling all types of collectables from posters, prints, figurines, statues, Cosplay, trading cards, jewellery, books, dvd’s and more mainly related to film, sci-fi, cult, gaming and anime.

There was plenty to keep the fans entertained including the awesome Bumble Bee Camaro from the Transformers movie. Carl Weathers at Comic Con Newcastle

Overall Newcastles Film and Comic Con event was a great success and I would say most people who eventually got in enjoyed the weekend. The organisers have said the Comic Con event will be held again in Newcastle next year and lessons will be learnt from this years event.
