Marilyn Monroe Mosaic Raises Over £2000 in Toy Fair Charity Auction

Tim Wonnacott, the star of BBC’s Bargain Hunt programme was at The London Toy Fair 2014 to unveil a special one off piece of art.

Clubit TV spoke to Timothy Wonnacott, the celebrity art expert at the unveiling of a giant mosaic masterpiece of Marilyn Monroe on the Galt Toys stand.

The specially commissioned large 5ft x 5ft mosaic masterpiece is a recreation of the iconic Marilyn Monroe portrait by Andy Warhol.

The Marilyn masterpiece was created by Ed Chapman known as the maestro of mosaics and famous for the Jimi Hendrix mosaic and other art mosaics including Barrack Obama, John Lennon and David Beckham.

For this piece of art Ed Chapman created the Marilyn mosaic entirely out of bits and pieces from Galt toys arts and craft range.

The giant mosaic was unveiled on Galt Toys stand at the London Toy Fair 2014 and the artwork was auctioned off for charity. All proceeds will go to The Toy Trust Charity. Founded by the BTHA, the Toy Trust charity gives to causes that help disadvantaged and disabled children in the UK and abroad.

On Monday 24th March a giant cheque for £2,050.00 was presented to Foye Pascoe from the Toy Trust from the MD of Galt Toys John McDonnell.
